Born in Mobile, Alabama, Katherine is a lover of water and nature. She loves camping and forest bathing, and leads a Girl Scout troop to help pass on the love of nature and empowerment to girls who live in the city. She is a feminist, and her academic work, poetry, and life choices reflect that stance.
