I am a Professor of English at Perimeter College of Georgia State University, a poet, a yogi, a mother, and a lover of film and food. I am also the co-founder of the Georgia State University Prison Education Project. I have a new chapbook of poetry, Smaller Versions, released in August of 2024 by Bottlecap Press. My first book, Long Alabama Summer, was released in December of 2017 from Finishing Line Press. I've been publishing poems for several decades, and some of those can be found at Writers Resist, Women's Studies Quarterly, The Dead Mule of Southern Literature, Poetry Quarterly, Southern Women's Review, Women's Studies Interdisciplinary Journal, and 13th Moon. |

Readings and WorkshopsLike most poets, I do other things to pay the bills. However, teaching is also a passion. If you are looking for someone to lead a workshop, give a poetry reading, or talk about prison education, feel free to contact me.
See the News and Events page for upcoming readings. |
